Programmers Considered Fat; Or, Let Your Mom Make The Apps

I have been building up intuition about AI, for along time now.

And I am just beginning to understand, programming languages are absolutely not the way to go.

The language needs to be a simple point and click application, that a teenager can easily figure out how to use.

And then a tiny local AI can operate via tool use and SKILLS.

A programming language, is like several puzzles or frameworks mixed up together.

And a point and click application anybody can operate, is un-assembled furniture with 6 screws.

You do need to inform the AI, how to put the thing together, so the program needs to come with assembly instructions.

And to be clear, a programming language does not need instructions, the AI has such a powerful brain that it can sort the puzzles instantly.

But listen, I don’t want AI doing puzzle work, whish is adding bit by bit of code that really does go well together.

Even att he code level, I need AI to follow procedures, so I am already informing it, and coders usually are.

But everyone just needs to take that one step into furniture world, and the AI can just screw application specific pieces together.

And working with planks of wood as opposed little incomplete puzzle pieces, means that it literally can’t screw up your program.

Though your dad would no doubt argue this, there is actually only one way a plank of wood fits the furniture.

In case of puzzle pieces, as your younger self remembers, you can just smash pieces together, and they kind of fit.

If your AI is low powered, it will try to smash, so you give it the plank of wood and it won’t.


Programmers, have lost their minds, and begun using AI as a lipstick, on their code, which is very frequently a dirty pig, and they know it.

But what they need to do is ask AI to rebuild their puzzle, into an application specific set of actions, yet to be assembled furniture.

And the ask a much simpler AI, which is free, to just put the pieces together, and make some more if needed.

Here small local AI making plan sized programs that it already has examples of, will not get too confused about, and it can be made to repeat until it works.

It can even be made to remember mistakes from precious attempts, by asking it to reflect on a failed attempt and note what not to do.


So just like anybody can create songs, anybody can now create software.

Unfortunately, the kits are not yet here, they aren’t hard to make.

It is just that all programmer in the world, are currently busy smearing lipsticks on their pigs.

They are yet to push themselves away and notice, that instead of puzzle pieces, they just need some pre-drilled planks of wood.

This is also why errors are low here, the holes are already there, a web component with well though-tout attributes does not have errors.

And web components with bugs in them, can be easily pecked apart by little AI chickens.

They will fit in AI memory, no trouble.


Which only leaves us with a discussion about your mom, every mom can play mario, and it is that holy power that makes the app.

A programmer, can’t ask questions like “is there another way”, “is this necessary”, they only imagine they do that.

But a mom, always otherwise busy, preferably with a belt in hand.

Can order the existence of such an app, because she does not take shit from anybody.

And here is what a mom would say, here is how the app language would look.

Give me a dashboard, like business intelligence, or car, or even a news display on a tv, a grid of information with a capable sidebar.

And unlike a programmer, she would add here, this is the floor of the application, everything you need to know

Now, give me a navigation bar on top that opens modal windows, that contain simple row by row forms, these will issue my commands.

She will then say I want AI integration, because only an idiot would make an app without AI.

Out it in a hermetic container, a virtual operating system, and expose OpenAPI, it is an operating system in a plastic box – it just works.

For the app it self give me BFF she would add, which is short for, backbend for front end, this will take care o her communication needs.

So now she can submit her modals to the backend, and possibly forward the stuff toe her plastic AI box.


And then, and this is the part. where she lifts her belt over her programmer child.

Just in case, the littte bastard tries to protest.

“Give me an edit button right in the app”, here she would be thinking wikipedia, HyperCard, and FileMaker.

There are many ways to take it from here, but a mom would just want to edit thing in place.

So she would go to a form that needs an extra input box, click on the now visible plus button, twiggered by edit mode.

And just freaking type up a message to the god damn ai, give me a web component that selects from a list of presets.

And then, paste in some text.

The AI would know to update the object the form is tied to, based on that instruction manual that comes with furniture.

This in-place editing, now made possible because AI does all the work, would also apply to data tables, or objects, or navbar.


My own version of this part, abstracts away the application, I myself am not ready for in-place-editing, I did something I prefer.

But I am likely, just over-complicating things for myself.


And I should add that our moms would beat thist out of us, if they found out we use JSON like dorks instead of XML.

It takes 30 seconds to get your SOTA AI to make an XML parser, nesting objects inside JSON should result in a beating and a grounding.


It seems, programmers are just weird, and moms as always have the right solution.

But they just don’t swing that belt frequently enough, because they’re too nice.
